Marianna Deganutti


Biography and interests

Marianna Deganutti is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of World Literature, Slovak Academy of Sciences. Previously she was awarded a DAAD fellowship at LMU and was a postdoc for UNREST at the University of Bath. She holds a degree in International and Diplomatic Sciences at the University of Trieste, a degree in Philosophy at the University of Milan,and a master and a D.Phil (PhD) in Modern Languages at the University of Oxford. Her research interests are literary multilingualism, borderland writers and trauma studies.

Current projects:

  • member of the IMPULZ-2022-68 project "Translation and Cross-Lingual Stylistic Transfer"
  • co-leader of the Working Group 6 at the Cost Action A24137 (MultiLiLiTrans)
  • co-founder of the ICLA Committee "Language Contact in Literature: Europe (LCLE)"
  • contributor to the "Hungarian and Slovak Literature in the Central European Cultural Space" mobility programme
  • co-founder of LangueFlow, an international research group focusing on literary multilingualism
  • external scientific consultant at the International Centre on Plurilingualism (Centro Internazionale sul Plurilinguismo - CEIP), University of Udine
