Marianna Deganutti


Biography and interests

Marianna Deganutti is a Researcher at the Institute of World Literature, Slovak Academy of Sciences. Her current engagement is with the IMPULZ-2022-68 project "Translation and Cross-Lingual Stylistic Transfer: Towards a Theory of Language Contact in Literature". She also leads a working group at the Cost Action A24137 - "Literary multilingualism and social transformations in superdiverse societies" (MultiLiLiTrans), and is involved in the "Hungarian and Slovak Literature in the Central European Cultural Space" mobility programme. Previously she was awarded a DAAD felloship at LMU, and was a postdoc for UNREST at the University of Bath. She holds a degree in International and Diplomatic Sciences at the University of Trieste, a degree in Philosophy at the University of Milan, and a master and a D.Phil (PhD) in Modern Languages at the University of Oxford. Her research interests are literary multilingualism, code-switching, borderland writers, trauma studies, and comparative literature.
